Senior College offers gift certificates 

LEWISTON — USM LAC Senior College will offer One Day Wonders, 28 two-hour winter classes, free to paid Senior College members, between Jan. 22 and March 2.

A gift certificate for membership for seniors age 50 and older will provide four free winter session classes. A gift certificate may also be applied to a spring class.

Membership includes free participation in the Senior College clubs: Dine Around, Outdoor Adventures, Afternoon at the Theater and Cross Country Skiing.

Lisbon Historical Society celebrates Christmas

LISBON FALLS — At its December meeting, the Lisbon Historical Society will hold its annual Christmas celebration. Members and guests will hear about the rich historical origins of many seasonal traditions as well as join in singing songs of the season.

It’s also a custom to hear a rendition of “The Night Before Christmas” read by a member. There will be a Yankee Swap gift exchange, and the meeting will conclude with a potluck of seasonal refreshments and beverages.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the MTM Center on School Street, with parking and entrance at the rear of the building.

Lewiston Democratic Committee to meet

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Democratic Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

Those attending should enter through the CC door. An elevator is available.

The committee will discuss the results of the municipal elections and the 2018 Lewiston Democratic Caucus.

Following the meeting will be a holiday potluck. All Lewiston Democrats are welcome.
