Volunteer Brenda Parent, left, and staff member Louise Blowers wrap gifts for the Safe Voices Adopt-a-Family program in Lewiston on Friday morning. This is the 24th year that Parent has volunteered to wrap and tag gifts. Parent benefited from the program when she went through a divorce and enjoys coming back during the holiday season to help the women and children who have endured heartache and violence. Safe Voices, which serves more than 1,600 people a year in the tri-county area, matches families in need with individual community members, families, and companies who shop for the families from wish lists.
