FARMINGTON — Roland J. Roy, 78, a resident of Leeds, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Edgewood Manor in Farmington. He was born Oct. 18, 1939, in Lewiston, the son of Dominique and Julienne (Veilleux) Roy. Roland attended Lewiston High School and graduated in 1958.

Roland proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1964. He had worked as a salesperson for Gilman Electric and also drove school bus for the SAD 52 district, retiring in 1997. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and traveling, enjoying his trips to Alaska and Hawaii.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Betty Blaisdell; his four sons, Michael and his wife, Tracey of Leeds, Gregory and his wife, Rae-Ellen of Jay, Stephen and his wife, Nicole of Northwood, N.H., and Robert of Durham; seven grandchildren, Kayla Roy, Katie Roy, Joseph Roy, Jacob Roy, Jared Roy, Brenna Roy, Eva Roy; and one great-grandchild, Elliot Roy; and his best friends, Lyle Seavey and Tim Rosenburg. He was predeceased by his parents.
