PARIS — Sophomore Maggie Hartnett drained three first-quarter 3-pointers to help the Oxford Hills girls’ basketball team take an early lead in its 57-38 Class AA North win over Portland on Saturday.

Following Hartnett’s barrage, the Vikings led 16-5 at the end of the opening quarter.

Hartnett made another 3 in the second quarter and finished with 14 points. Julia Colby led Oxford Hills (1-1) with 16 points. Jadah Adams added 12 more.

Amanda Kabantu topped Portland (2-1) with 16 points, while Shayla Eubanks finished with 10.

Oak Hill 52, Dirigo 30

WALES — Desirae Dumais paced Oak Hill with 17 points in a 52-30 victory over Dirigo in a MVC girls’ basketball contest Saturday.

Audrey Dillman and Kaitlyn Ridley each added six points for the Raiders (1-2).

Alyssa McTyre paced the Cougars (0-3) with eight points, while Ashley Perreault chipped in with seven points.

Boys’ basketball

Spruce Mountain 53, Telstar 39

JAY — Junior point guard Kayle Stewart recorded a team-high 15 points to lead Spruce Mountain to a 53-39 victory over Telstar in boys’ baksetball action Saturday.

The Phoenix (5-0) took a 24-14 hafltime lead. Senior guard Brett Frey contributed four field goals and four free throws for 12 points for Spruce Mountain.

The Rebels (1-3) made a little run with an 18-13 spurt in the fourth quarter. Senior guard Blake Rockwell posted a game-high 16 points for Telstar.

Boys’ hockey

York 9, Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison 1

DOVER, NEW HAMPSHIRE — Dalton McCann had a hat trick and an assist to lead York to a 9-1 victory over Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison in a Class B South boys’ hockey contest Saturday.

Spencer Pickett had a goal and two assists, while Jake Martin and Andrew Bertoloni each had a goal and an assist for the Wildcats.

Max Pickett, Brendan Webster and Aidan Martin each had a tally for York.

Keegan Choate scored for the Hawks.

Girls’ hockey

Lewiston/Oak Hill/Monmouth 3, Greely 2 

FALMOUTH — Brie Dube’s goal early in the third period was the eventual game winner as the Blue Devils defeated Greely 3-2 in a key Norhern Maine girls’ hockey matchup Saturday.

After a scoreless first period, Lewiston (6-0) went up 2-1 after 40 minutes as Madison Conley and Gemma Landry scored. Madison Pelletier scored with 31 seconds remaining in the period to get the Rangers on the board.

After Dube scored 1:24 into the third period. Courtney Sullivan scored with 3:45 remaining for Greely (5-1).

Edward Little/Leavitt 6, Yarmouth 2

YARMOUTH — Six different players found the back of the net for the Red Hornets in a 6-2 victory over Yarmouth in a girls’ hockey game Saturday.

Taylor Cailler, Audrey Varney and Colleen Mathieu each had a goal and a helper for the Red Hornets (2-2-1). Brianna Doucette, Isabel Berube and Elizabeth Marcotte also scored.

Caroline Toussaint had two assists in the win.
