JAY — The sixth annual Spruce Mountain Sled-In and Winter Family Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at French Falls Recreation Area, French Falls Lane, across from Spruce Mountain High School.

Those attending may ride in on snowmobiles via Whistlestop Trail or come by car and park in the Rec Area.

There will be a bonfire, sleigh rides, snowshoe races with prizes, sliding on a snow “mountain,” food sold by local charities and nonprofits and a snow sculpture/snowman contest with prizes. Bring sliding sleds and snowshoes; there will be a limited number available at the event.

Raffle tickets for a ski chair are available at the Town Office. Tickets are $1 or six for $5. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and additional raffles from local businesses the day of the event. All drawings will be held that day.

The event is sponsored by the Jay Recreation Committee, with help from all three local snowmobile clubs, Andy Valley Riders, Jug Hill Riders and Livermore Trailblazers.

Jay Recreation Committee is selling raffle tickets for this chair. They may be purchased from the Jay Town Office. It will be raffled off during the Spruce Mountain Sled-In and Winter Family Festival on Feb. 17.
