AUBURN — Hilda L. Edwards Despres, 87, of Sabattus, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Clover Manor.
Hilda was born at home in Casco on Jan. 3, 1931, the youngest girl of seven children, to Ernest P. and Euphemie (Fournier) Edwards. She also attended Casco schools.
On May 24, 1955, she married Donald L. Despres, who predeceased her in 1972.
She enjoyed working with people through Pathways and local nursing homes. Her work as a CNA gave her much pleasure. Other pleasures included walks, reading, ocean visits, rides in the country, music and dancing.
Ms. Despres is survived by her daughters, Linda A. Foster (Michael), Sabattus, Joanne I. Perkins (Michael), Lisbon, and Nancy L. Reardon (Joseph), New Jersey. She also leaves eight grandhildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three husbands; her six siblings; and one great-grandson, Logan.
The family would like to thank the staff at Clover Manor and Beacon Hospice for their loving care.
