LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens held a beef stew luncheon before the monthly meeting on Jan. 8. Members had cake for dessert to celebrate the January birthdays. New board members were sworn in by Jason Hanken, director of the Lewiston Recreation Department. After the meeting bingo was played.
The February meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5. After the meeting, members will spend an afternoon playing games.
The annual potluck luncheon will be held at noon Monday, March 5. Members are encouraged to go to the office and sign up to bring a dish. Tickets for members who cannot bring a dish will be $6 a person.
The Seniors currently have the following trips planned for 2018:
April 7 to 15: Amelia Island, St. Augustine and Jacksonville, Florida; eight nights and 14 meals, guided tours of Amelia Island, St. Augustine and Jacksonville; visit to the Fountain of Youth, Fernandina Beach and Kingsley Plantation; narrated cruise on the St. John’s River and shopping on St. George Street. $75 deposit due upon signing; $749 pp double occupancy.
Aug. 11 to 16: Canadian Island trip; five nights and 11 meals; guided tour of Quebec City and the Island of Coudres; tour of the Baie Saint-Paul in Charlevoix and Montmorency Falls. $75 deposit due upon signing; $699 pp double occupancy.
Sept. 9 to 15: Virginia Beach, Colonial Williamsburg and Historic Norfolk; six nights and 10 meals; guided tour of Colonial Williamsburg, cruise on the Spirit of Norfolk, admission to the Virginia Beach Aquarium and Marine Center and admission to the Nauticus and Battleship Wisconsin. $75 deposit due upon signing; $825 pp double occupancy.
Nov. 12 to 16: Lancaster Show Trip and Dutch Country; four nights and eight meals; guided tour of Philadelphia and Lancaster, admission to the Sight & Sound Theater for the new musical “JESUS,” admission to “The First Noel” show at the American Music Theater. $75 deposit due upon signing; $585 pp double occupancy.
Dec. 7, 8 and 9: Christmas Tour at the White Mountain Hotel and Resort; two nights and five meals, three Christmas shows and an evening sleigh ride. $50 deposit due upon signing; $452 pp double occupancy.
