First came the Christmas Day blizzard, then the deep freeze and another blizzard followed by the January thaw. Now it’s time for more snow in Maine.
Maine’s next storm system is slated to arrive between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday.
A Winter Storm Advisory has been issued.
The snow will be very light overnight.
The heaviest snow should be during the day Wednesday.
The back edge of the storm should push east late afternoon/evening Wednesday.
Most areas can expect all snow. The exception will be some peninsulas and islands where mixing is possible.
Snow consistency won’t be as fluffy as previous storms due to temperatures warming to around freezing.
Most of the region should pick up 4-8 inches of snow.
The heaviest snow bands should occur along the coastal plain.
Winds should remain fairly light during the storm and are not expected to be a significant.
Thursday will showcase a welcome return to sun. Highs will make a run at the upper 20s to near 30.
Our next warm up will get going on Friday with 30s making an appearance and 40s will provide significant melting once again over the weekend.
Based on Tuesday’s forecast, the weekend is looking storm free.
Monday, however, may showcase a wintry mix and rain. Stay tuned.
Here’s an estimate of timing. Snow arrives 8PM-11PM. Looks like snow covered roads for both your AM and PM commute tomorrow. Back edges moves east Wednesday evening. pic.twitter.com/zOpepbdYpj
