WESTLAND, Mich. — Richard “Lurch” Wilson, 71, formerly of Rumford, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, in Westland, Mich.
He was born in New York on July 12, 1946, a son of Harley D. and Beulah (Ellis) Wilson.
Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a union electrician for many years. Richard loved to travel, whether it was for work or just to go and visit family and friends. He loved playing pool, dancing and going to the casino, but most of all he just loved people. Richard will be remembered for his unique and colorful personality.
Surviving are his daughter, Christi Heath, and husband, Roger, of Rumford; longtime companion, Debbie Takach, of Westland, Mich.; three sisters, Nancy McIlroy of Irving, Texas, Sandy Ritchie of Irving, Texas, and Patricia Ann Foster of Whitney, Texas; his grandchildren, Howard Jones and companion, Amy Martin, of Rumford, Seth Jones and companion, Melanie Jordan, of Rumford, and Jesse Heath and companion, Elizabeth Lawler, of Dixfield; and an adopted son, Richie Wilson, of Texas.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Robert Wilson.
