LEWISTON — Alexandre Blanchette, 82, of Lewiston, passed away with family and friends at his side on Wednesday, Feb. 7, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He owned Lobsterland Restaurant until its closing. He continued to work as a cook until his retirement from a local day care.
He leaves behind his children, Daniel, Michael and Donna, and their spouses; and his two grandchildren.
Alex was very kindhearted and had a real love for life, his family and friends, animals and nature. He enjoyed hockey, making puzzles, feeding the birds, caring for his houseplants and occasional trips to the casino.
A private service will be held later.
