The defending state champion Vikings went 18-0 and dominated the entire region, and Davis-Oakes is a force.
Dark horses: Rangeley.
The Lakers seem to be the only team with a chance to unseat Vinalhaven. Haley and Egan were part of Rangeley’s state championship in 2016, and they’re surrounded this year by a talented but young squad.
Overview: Even Rangeley was roughed up by the Vikings this season, losing by 14 and 19 points during their overnight road trip to the island Jan. 5-6. However, that was nearly a month-and-a-half ago, and the Lakers’ young players have another half of a season under their belts.
Prediction: Vinalhaven.
