AMHERST, Mass. — Aidan Milburn had a hat trick to pace the Rochester Insititue of Technology Tigers to a 9-7 victory over Bates College in a game played at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst campus.

It was a back and forth game, with neither team leading by more than two goals.

Kyle Killen and Cam Isaac each had two goals and an assist, while Shawn Nally had a goal and assist, for the Tigers. Eli Salama also scored for RIT, which is ranked third U.S. Lacrosse Association’s national coaches poll to start the season.

Matt Chlastawa led the No. 11 Bobcats (0-1) with two goals and two helpers, while Clarke Jones had a pair of goals. Curtis Knapton had a goal and an assist, and Matt Kelleher and Jack Maritz each scored a goal.

Bates hosts Babson on Wednesday in the home opener at Garcelon Field at 5 p.m.
