PORTLAND — The Maine Art Education Association celebrates the nationally recognized “Youth Art Month” in March with student art exhibits statewide.
Two Lewiston Middle School students will display their work at the Portland Museum of Art. Willow Cotton’s painting from grade seven and Daxton St. Hilaire’s collage from grade seven were selected.
The art teachers are Kay Allison and Kate Cargile.
The art exhibit opening will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 3. The schedule is as follows:
4:30 p.m.: Presentation of grades kindergarten, one, two and three certificates.
5:30 p.m.: Presentation of grades four, five, six and seven certificates.
6:30 p.m.: Presentation of grades eight, nine, 10, 11 and 12 certificates.
The work will be on display during March with other student artwork from around the state.
