In November, voters should remember that Rep. Bruce Poliquin chose to line his pockets and those of his corporate friends instead of investing in Maine communities.
His vote to approve a budget that gives the wealthy and big corporations a major tax break will come at the expense of important programs that his constituents rely on, such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid (MaineCare). The legislation also repeals key provisions of the Affordable Care Act, which will lead to approximately 50,000 Mainers losing health care coverage; will destabilize the Maine budget and rob children with disabilities and seniors in nursing homes of their health care. He has consistently voted to cut vital programs like health care and education.
Rep. Poliquin’s positions are clearly out of touch with his constituents. No wonder he will not meet with the people. Where is he?
Voters should remember in November.
