NORWAY — Former WCSH 6 weatherman Kevin Mannix and his wife, social worker Linda Rota, will speak on their book, “Weathering Shame,” at the Norway Memorial Library, 258 Main St., from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 20.
The book is written about their individual experiences with shame and stigma throughout their childhood and adult lives. They share their life experiences, lessons, struggles and feelings that result from growing up exposed to alcoholism, severe depression and suicide.
Their goal is for their audience and readers to benefit from their struggles, raise awareness and to be inspired and encouraged by their personal stories to embark on their own journey of self-discovery, recovery or awareness. Copies of the book will be on sale the night of the program for $21 by cash or check.
The program is sponsored by the Friends of Norway Memorial Library and is free and open to the public. Call 207-743-5309, ext. 1, or visit www.norway.lib.me.us for more information.
