
Elora Hixon and puppy Onyx hang out at the Auburn Mall for a socialization activity with the Guiding Eyes for the Blind on Thursday. The nationwide organization makes use of volunteer puppy raisers, such as Hixon, who teach basic skills to the dogs for 14 to 16 months. The dogs then learn specialized skills.
