LEWISTON — Banjoist, singer and harmonica player John Gawler will play the Oasis of Music this coming Wednesday, March 21, at Trinity Church, 247 Bates St., beginning at 12:30 p.m.. Gawler has enjoyed a long run of performances throughout Maine and beyond over better than four decades, bringing lots of joy around with his uplifting repertoire of new and old songs, accompanying himself primarily on the five-string banjo.
Gawler is best known as the elder member of the Gawler Family Band, as husband to Ellen and father to Molly, Edith and Elsie, which has become a very popular unit with many performances and several fine CDs to its credit.
