LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Central Maine Human Resource Association and the Lewiston CareerCenter, will hold its HR Thursdays seminar, Creating Handbooks and Policies that Work, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at the chamber, 415 Lisbon St.
Presenter will be Tawny Alvarez from Verrill Dana in Portland.
The ever-changing social landscape requires human resources professionals to make changes to their handbooks regularly. Alvarez will discuss the pros and cons to new and steadfast sections of the employee handbook, what are some of the changes to old norms and what is a definite must have new area to cover.
