DEAR SUN SPOTS: I recently reconnected with a couple of old friends. We’d like to get together, but we’re still missing one other friend, Peggy Danforth. We believe she married someone with the last name of Lewis. Does that ring a bell with anyone? We all worked for Depositor’s Trust in 1963-64.

—No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: I hope Peggy, or someone who knows her, sees this and responds right away. Sun Spots is famous for finding people and how wonderful it would be to have a reunion with all your old gal-pals!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Livermore Falls High School Class of 1978 is seeking classmate volunteers to assist in organizing a 40th class reunion.

Classmates that usually organize the reunions are no longer in the area or not available. Therefore, the need for others to step up and help organize would be very much appreciated. The goal is to have a reunion in August and let’s make it our best one yet. If you are interested in taking part, please contact Willard Riley at bill@rileyanders.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Central Maine Veterinarian Hospital, just over the Auburn line at 10 Business Parkway in Turner has a sign saying, “Closed 8/31.” I was a client for many years, but received no notice, nor did I see anything in the Sun Journal regarding anything about it. I’d like my pet’s records, as would my new veterinarian. Can you help? Their phone is disconnected.

—Mike, Auburn

ANSWER: This does seem odd, but I’m sure there’s a good explanation. I found this notice on the CMVH Facebook page, dated Sept. 2, 2017:

“Dear Clients and Customers of CMVH, Unfortunately things worked out differently than expected and the building CMVH currently resides in will no longer be operated as a veterinarian hospital. Please, e-mail us at cmvhrecords@gmail.com with an e-mail (personal or other) where we can send your pet’s records. We wish all our furry clients the best of luck and we certainly will miss you dearly. Please bear with us and give us the time we need, as sending hundreds of records takes time. Thank you! Your CMVH Staff.”

I’m sure there are other Sun Spots readers out there who were clients of CMVH as well. I’d love it if you would share if you have been successful in retrieving your pets’ records. Let’s give it a couple weeks then I will offer what to do next if writing to the email above doesn’t yield a response.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Back in 1958, Frank Brown, the violin maker, made me a violin from a tree stump in his back yard. I have played and cherished that violin ever since then and was wondering if anyone in this area still has another one that Mr. Brown made for them. It would be wonderful to see another one and compare the beauty of it to mine. Thank you so much.

—Lorraine, Turner

ANSWER: That would be so cool! I hope you find other violins made by Frank out there. He is credited with making 100 violins, violas and cellos according to the research I did online.
