LEWISTON — Muriel J. Sawyer, 88, of Lewiston, ended her life journey Wednesday, March 21, at Russell Park Rehab and Living Center, with her family at her side. She was born in Farmington on March 14, 1930, to parents Ruby Edwards and Louis Fish.

Muriel was a lifelong member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Lewiston. She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, plastic canvas, word search books and going to church. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Muriel worked as a mill worker, as a homemaker and also worked several years in the shoe shop.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank C. Sawyer Sr.; two daughters, Joanne Berube and Shirley Sawyer; a son, Dennis L. Sawyer; both parents; brothers, William and Harry Fish; and a sister, Betty Vallee.

Surviving her are sons, Frank C. Sawyer Jr. of Pasadena, Texas, Steven Sawyer of Lewiston, and Corey Sawyer and his wife, Lori, of Sabattus; daughters, Robin St. Laurent of Lewiston, Joyce Lessard and her husband, Robert, of Greene; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and brother Thomas Fish, of Auburn.
