FARMINGTON — Farmington House of Pizza opened March 18, 1988. In celebration of the 30th Anniversary, free breakfast will be served 6-10 a.m., Sunday (Easter morning).

Owner Roula Maniatakos said the free breakfast is to show appreciation for her customers.

“Seeing the same people all these years. The young people, there for the grand opening, are married now and have kids. They’re like a family to me,” Maniatakos said.

Donations will be accepted for the Franklin County Animal Shelter at the free breakfast.

Maniatakos said the increase in minimum wage is making an impact. She will be expanding her menu and hours.

Farmington House of Pizza will also become House of Breakfast beginning Wednesday, April 4. Breakfast will be served Wednesday through Sunday, 7-10 a.m.

After April 4, hours will be 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., Monday and Tuesday; 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 7 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

Maniatakos said she will try serving breakfast 5 days a week. To limit expenses, waitressing will not be offered. Everything will be homemade.

“People can only eat out so much,” she said.

Maniatakos said it’s going to be hard to retire. She has been involved in the restaurant business since 1971.

“I built my house here. I have my children, grandchildren, my chickens and dogs,” she said. “I feel good. I’m happy with my community.”
