The Maine War Tax Resistance (WTR) Resource Center has begun its annual war tax day actions around the state.
Those interested in volunteering with the Maine WTR Resource Center and/or the Youth & Militarism Project or would like a presentation on peace jobs for youth at a school, call 207-558- 5758.
Local WTR actions taking place include:
Lewiston: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Bates College Commons.
Rome: Saturday to Monday, April 14 to 16, at Pine Tree Camp.
Bethel: Saturday, April 14, at Bethel Post Office.
Farmington: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at the University of Maine at Farmington, Student Union.
There will be information on war tax resistance and the Youth & Militarism Project at all events. For more information, also go to mainewtr.nwtrcc.org.
