LEWISTON — Police swarmed on the neighborhoods around Oak Street on Friday night after several people reported hearing gunshots in the area.
Witnesses in the area of Oak and Holland streets reported hearing at least two shots fired at about 8:45 p.m.
Police went to that corner while other officers checked areas along College, Oak and Union streets.
There was no immediate indication that anyone had been shot.
Police were continuing to question witnesses in the area later Friday.
