LEWISTON — Central Maine Healthcare announces that surgeon Lisa Rutstein, MD, has joined its medical staff to lead the surgical oncology program.
Rutstein is a fellowship-trained oncology surgeon with more than 15 years of experience. Her chief area of interest is in the treatment of stomach, intestinal, gallbladder, pancreas and liver cancer, as well as breast and skin malignancy.
She is recognized for her regional treatment programs and palliative care for patients with advanced stages of cancer. She is certified by the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Board of Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and served as the Maine state physician liaison to the Commission on Cancer for eight years. She has served in teaching positions through various academic appointments, including work as an assistant professor of surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston.
Rutstein is scheduling patients to be seen at the Hematology-Oncology Associates office in Suite 205 in the 12 High Street medical office building next to Central Maine Medical Center. The office can be reached at 207-795-2935.
