PARIS — School Administrative District 17 directors have approved a list of facilities projects for the coming fiscal year, including a new boiler at the Harrison Elementary School and tying the Oxford Elementary School into the town sewer system.

Superintendent Rick Colpitts presented the annual Capital Improvement Plan to the board April 2. It’s updated and prioritized by school officials and reviewed by the Operations Committee.

It’s “a reminder we have things to do,” he said.

SAD 17 Facilities Director Dean Dillingham highlighted some needs at each school building:

• Replace a leaking boiler the Harrison school for $129,000;

• Add gym mats behind hoops at Hebron Elementary School for $2,000;

Some repairs are being delayed until decisions are made on the funding, such as replacing the high school roof and HVAC system, and replacing or renovating Oxford Hills Middle School in Paris and Agnes Gray Elementary School in West Paris.

Colpitts praised the board for its work.

“We sometimes overlook the fact that if you look through this list and things that have been completed, you folks have done a lot of work and you should be proud of yourselves,”  he said.
