PARIS — Oxford Hills jumped out to an early lead on Mt. Ararat, before the Eagles mounted a late charge, but the Vikings came away with a 5-3 victory in KVAC baseball action.

Troy Johnson had two RBIs as he walked in the bottom of the first inning and had a RBI single in the fourth. Oxford Hills also acored a single run in the second.

After Nick Merrill tripled in the top of the sixth for the Eagles (1-2) and later scored, Vikings (3-0) responded in the bottom of the inning scoring twice on wild pitches.

Mt. Ararat added two more runs in the the seventh. Janek Luksza picked up the save for Oxford Hills while Colton Carson picked up the win.

Caden Cutler had a double in the third for the Vikings while Hunter LaBossiere had a pair of hits.

Mt. Abram 16, Wiscasset 0, 5 inn.

SALEM — Hunter Warren and Luke Kearing combined for a no hitter in Mt. Abram’s 16-0 victory over Wiscasset in a MVC baseball contest.

Warren went the first three innings before being relieved by Kearing, who was behind the plate. Warren went behind the plate for the final two innings.

Kearing had three hits, including a solo homer in the fifth inning. Jack Deming and Nate Luce each had doubles in the victory for Mt. Abram (2-2).

Lewiston 7, Camden Hills 0

ROCKPORT — After a scoreless four innings, the Lewiston bats woke up in the fifth and sixth innings in a 7-0 victory over Camden Hills in a KVAC baseball game.

The Blue Devils scored twice in the top of the fifth inning. Elias Atkins and Evan Cox each had a two run double in the sixth as part of five-run inning. Atkins had two hits on the day.

Lewiston improves to 1-3 on the season, while Camden Hills falls to 1-3.

Mountain Valley 16, Boothbay 1

RUMFORD — Cody Hemingway, Curtis Gavuin and Anthony Mazza smashed a trio of homeruns in the first hinning to give the Falcons a 6-0 lead and propelled Mountain Valley to a 16-1 victory over Boothbay in baseball action Saturday afternoon.

Gauvin hit a grand slam in the second, giving him seven RBIs for the game. The Falcons (3-0) scored once in the third and five more times in the fourth.

Hunter Crocker had two doubles of the Seahawks’ (0-3) three hits on the afternoon.

Greely 15, Gray-New Glouexter 2

GRAY — Second baseman AJ Eisenhart manufactured three hits to lead Greely to a 15-2 victory over Gray-New Gloucester in a five-inning outing in baseball action Saturday evening.

The Rangers (2-1) came out strong with three runs in the first and four in the third inning. They finished with six runs in the top of the fifth inning. Even Kiesow earned the mound win.

Senior shortstop Eli Winchester produced a double and scored one of the Patriot’s (1-1) two runs, while making a couple of good defensive plays in the losing effort.

Softball

Lewiston 12, Camden Hills 0, 6 inn.

CAMDEN — Gemma Landry keyed a 21-hit outburst with a 5-for-5 day at the plate to help power Lewiston to a 12-0 win over Camden Hills in a KVAC softball matchup on Saturday.

Jordan Mynahan ripped a double among her three hits, while Jordyn Rubin added four hits, also including a double, for the red hot Blue Devils (3-1). Megan Theriault, who earned her first win of the season in the circle, helped her own cause with a double and a single.

Emily Mousseau and Maddie Mercier also collected a pair of hits in the win.

Emily Long suffered the loss for the Windjammers (0-4), who managed just three hits in six innings off Theriault.

Poland 4, Gray-New Gloucester 2

POLAND — Kailyn Eskuri placed down a sacrifice bunt to score Shelby LaFrinea for the game-winning run in the home half of the sixth inning as Poland dispatched Gray-New Gloucester, 4-2, in softball action Saturday afternoon.

Chloe Tufts singled, tripled and plated a runner for the Knights (2-2).. LaFrinea and Tufts scored on their respective triples in the fifth and sixth innings.

Jordan Grant and Gabriel Syrnek had two singles each for the Patriots (2-2) in the losing effort.

Lake Region 13, Freeport 4

NAPLES — Julia Murch and Maddie Rock each ahd RBI singles to key an eight-run fourth inning as Lake Region rallied past Freeport, 13-4, in softball action Saturday afternoon.

Brooke Harriman bleted a solo home run to start a five-run sixth inning for the Lakers.

The Falcons scored four times in the top of the fourth on an RBI double by Alexa Koenig.

Pitcher Haley Fernald scattered six hits and struck out 10 to earn the mound win for Lake Region.

Girls’ lacrosse

Edward Little 14, Sanford 6

SANFORD — Megan Steele scored five goals to lead Edward Little to a 14-6 victory over Sanford in girls’ lacorsse action Saturday afternoon.

Sierra Green and Piper Norcross contributed four and three goals, respectively, for the Red Eddies (1-0).

Goalie Chloe Royer made seven saves for Sanford, while goalie Erin Anderson had four stops for Edward Little.

Valentina Drown posted a team-leading three goals for the Spartans (0-2) in the losing effort.

Boys’ lacrosse

Oak Hill 16, MCI/Nokomis 8

WALES — Xavier Michaud scored five goals as Oak Hill blistered MCI/Nokomis in boys’ lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.

Riley Worth contributed four goals and three assists, while Nate Marcotte chipped in with two goals and an assist for the Raiders.

Goalie Kahlden Briggs made 15 saves for MCI/Nokomis, while goalie Brandon Glover turned away eight for Oak Hill.

Logan Rowell produced a team-leading three goals for MCI/Nokomis in the losing effort.
