LISBON FALLS — Carol J. Plourde, 61, of Lisbon Falls, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, April 22.

Carol was born in Worcester, Mass., Oct. 9, 1956, one of three children born to Charles and Marion (Swenson) Aldrich. She grew up and was educated in Westminster, Mass., schools and attended UMass Amherst following high school.

Upon meeting her husband, they married and moved to Canada, where they had two girls. The family moved to Lisbon Falls in 1985, and she has remained in this community ever since. In later years, Carol attained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Maine and was currently employed as a behavioral home health aide for Tri-County Mental Health Services.

In recent years, Carol has been attending West Bowdoin Baptist Church. Carol thoroughly enjoyed nature and the company of her pets, having adopted many rescue dogs and cats over the years. Currently, Carol had three dogs, one cat and one horse. In keeping with her love of nature, she also enjoyed gardening, walking in the woods and simply enjoyed nature’s many wonders and immense beauty. She was a loving, devoted and hardworking mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind two daughters, Jeannine Plourde of Lisbon Falls and Allison Plourde and husband, Manuel Lopez, of Bath; three grandchildren, Antigone Woodbury, Bacchus Woodbury and Cassius Wilhoit; two brothers, Steven Aldrich and wife, Cheryl, of New Hampshire, and Paul Aldrich and wife, Eileen, of Massachusetts; four nieces and nephews; her horse, Captain Hook; three dogs, Carrie, Kerry and Dream; and her cat, Blackie.

Carol was predeceased by her parents and several loving pets.
