SABATTUS — Jean Paul Derosier, 73, died Thursday, April 26, at his home in Sabattus after a short time with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 20, 1945, the son of Sylvio Derosier and Jeanette Bergeron Derosier. He attended local area schools. He graduated second in his class for carpentry at CMVTI in Portland. He worked as a hand sewer for many years in Lewiston/Auburn shoe shops. He retired from a toll collector’s position with the Maine Turnpike Authority after 25 years.

He married the love of his life, Theresa Bergeron, on April 20, 1968. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army National Guard at the end of seven years of service.

He leaves behind his wife, Theresa; a brother, Roger Derosier, and his wife, Mary; a son, Marc Derosier, and his wife, Tiffany; a daughter, Cathy Chapman, and her husband, Corey; as well as six grandchildren: Lydia Derosier, Victoria Derosier, Philip Derosier, Beau Derosier, Jedidiah Chapman, Sarah Batres and her husband, Josh; and a great-grandson, Braxdin Chapman.
