LIVERMORE FALLS — Police said a Livermore Falls man has been charged with felony unlawful trafficking in heroin and two counts of violating conditions of release.
Duane Hanson, 28, was arrested Tuesday night after police stopped a car on Park Street, near PallettOne, and conducted a search, which was a condition of his bail.
Thirteen bagged doses of what officers believed to be heroin were found, Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.
The heroin and $525 were confiscated, Steward said.
Officer Darian Nadeau noticed Hanson’s car being driven near Park Street and Fayette Road and knew his license was revoked, Steward said. Hanson was a passenger with Alysha Dejesus, 23, of Livermore Falls, the chief said.
She was issued a summons on a charge of operating after suspension, Steward said.
A conviction on the drug trafficking charge carries maximums of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. A conviction on the violation of bail conditions is punishable by up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Hanson is being held on $5,000 cash bail at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn.
