AUGUSTA — The New England League of Middle Schools, in conjunction with the Maine Association of Middle Level Education, held the annual Scholar Leaders banquet in Augusta on May 10.

Twenty-five middle schools from across the state were honored Middle Level Scholar Leaders.  Criteria include: An excellent attitude toward learning; provides service to classmates and school; is a positive role model for peers; takes responsibility for own behavior and learning.

Spruce Mountain Middle School eighth-graders Leah Gilbert and Kaila Godbey were recognized for winning the award for their school. 

T.W. Kelly Dirigo Middle School students Delaney Woods, and John Conron were honored.
