On Thursday, May 24, 2 p.m. at the Whitman Memorial Library in Bryant Pond, the tuba ensemble Low Commotion will present a free public concert. Low Commotion, which was formed in 2013, is an ensemble of euphoniums (tenor tubas) and full-sized tubas. According to director, James Bennett of West Paris, the ensemble performs several concerts each year at senior living centers, veterans homes, churches and libraries. Literature performed ranges from jazz, marches and contemporary music. To quote an ensemble member, “at last the tuba gets to play the melody.” For a concert of fun and entertaining music performed by a very unique ensemble, make sure you don’t miss Low Commotion on Thursday May 24th. at the Whitman Memorial Library in Bryant Pond.
