LEWISTON — Central Maine Healthcare and Healthy Androscoggin recently announced that Erin Guay, MPH, has been recognized by the Maine Public Health Association as the state’s Public Health Rising Star. The award was presented at MPHA’s spring awards ceremony in Augusta on May 31.

Guay is executive director of Healthy Androscoggin, a coalition of local people working to improve the health and quality of life in the greater Lewiston/Auburn community. She first worked at Healthy Androscoggin as a summer intern while pursuing her master’s degree in public health at the University of Michigan. After graduating she returned to manage Healthy Androscoggin’s Physical Activity, Nutrition, Tobacco, and later Cultural Competency projects. Guay was promoted to executive director in 2015.
