Kaitlyn Gibson, 14, and Ben Forbush, 13, slice strawberries for fruit salad at Auburn Middle School on Friday. Eighth-graders on team Sugarloaf prepared dinner for guests of Hope Haven Gospel Mission in Lewiston. Students made turkey wraps, bean salad and a garden salad for 80 people, team leader Diana Carson said. Asked to give back to the community before the end of the school year, students had a choice of cleaning classrooms, making signs for incoming seventh-graders, working on the school nature trail or delivering dinner to Hope Haven. Team Sugarloaf used money from fundraisers to purchase the food. (Daryn Slover/Sun Journal)
