LEWISTON — Pelletier’s Karate Academy wishes to congratulate Owen Robitaille for achieving the rank of Junior Black Belt. To reach this level, Owen has been studying karate for five years and was tested for proficiency in traditional kata (the forms and patterns of karate), kobudo (traditional Okinawan weapons), self-defense, sparring, and knowledge of the art.
Pelletier’s Karate Academy also wishes to congratulate Scott Almquist for achieving the rank of Black Belt. Scotty began studying at Pelletier’s at the age of three and has continued to train for the past ten years. To receive his black belt, he demonstrated proficiency in traditional kata (the forms and patterns of karate), kobudo (traditional Okinawan weapons), self-defense, sparring, and knowledge of the art as well as demonstrating the ability to teach.
