AUBURN — There will be no freedom from heat or humidity this week, including on Independence Day
According to the National Weather Service, most of the week will see temperatures in the 90s, until things cool down Friday.
Wednesday — July 4 — is expected to hit 92 degrees, with no rain.
The heat and humidity have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a heat advisory for central Maine for Sunday through Thursday, when temperatures in some areas are expected to hit 95 or hotter.

The American Red Cross advises families and households to be aware of safety precautions, and to have plans for wherever they spend time.
The Red Cross encourages those who do not have air conditioning to spend time at places that provide relief from the heat — such as schools, libraries, theaters or malls — during the warmest parts of each day.
It is also essential that animals have plenty of water and shade, and that pets never be left in enclosed vehicles.
Health experts also remind that all people consume plenty of liquids and take it easy during this hot stretch.
