AUBURN — Lillian Irene Purington, 85, of Mechanic Falls passed away peacefully Friday, July 13, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn, surrounded by her loving family.

Lil devoted most of her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed watching the Red Sox and her favorite soap opera, “Days of Our Lives.”

She is survived by two sons, Tony Purington and Henry Lauze; two daughters, Rosey Violette and Linda Holladay; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Purington; companion, James Melvin; two daughters, Lori Purington and Cindy Henson.

The family extends many thanks to Androscoggin Hospice, Poland Family Medicine, Dr. Trisha Gushue and nurse Cindy O’Connor.
