Salway speaks to Hebron Society

HEBRON — Author Norma Salway of Portland recently recounted her book “The Attic and Me” to the Hebron Historical Society.

She reflected on the numerous artifacts in the old boxes, tins and suitcases found in the attic of her Albany homestead. From her father’s syrup tins and tools to her mother’s patchwork quilts and various work aprons, each item had a story to tell about the owner.

Her stories examined the ways of stimulating child’s development through “making do” in the less technical era of the 1940s.
