AUBURN — The Auburn Recreation Department has announced that the third annual Auburn Summer Festival will be held during the weekend of Aug. 10 to 12 at various locations throughout Auburn.

All events will be free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. A full list of events can be found on the city of Auburn website at www.auburnmaine.gov.

Highlights include:

Auburn’s Men’s Slow Pitch Softball Draft League All Star Game and Home Run Derby: 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Pettengill Park.

Box Car Movie Night: 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Festival Plaza. Movie to be shown is “Turbo.”

Baxter Outdoor 5K Trail Run: Saturday, Aug. 11, at Mt. Apatite. The run will start at 10 a.m. There will be an entry fee.

Androscoggin River clean-up: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11.

Fourth annual Summer Block Party: 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Mac’s Grill. This is a Make-A-Wish Fundraiser. It will include a kids’ carnival, local bands, silent auction, beer garden, food and more.

Fireworks: 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Mac’s Grill. This will conclude the Summer Block Party.

Lake Auburn Open Mini Golf Tournament: 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Taber’s. There will be an entry fee to play.

Troy Barnies Pop-Up Basketball Clinic: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 12, at Union Street gully courts.
