LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce will hold a Power Lunch at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at the chamber conference room, 415 Lisbon St.

Discussion will center on how myths and public misconceptions about dementia perpetuate stigma and fear. Adam Wyatt Lacher, director of advocacy for the Maine Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, will be the presenter.

The chapter offers an educational talk designed to help people take an active role in the fight to end Alzheimer’s. The talk is suitable for families and individuals facing Alzheimer’s, as well as community members and health care professionals. The chapter hopes participants will learn the most fundamental information regarding dementia.

Those attending should feel free to bring their lunch.

There is no cost to attend but registration is required.
