Catherine Frisch, left, Hannah Malloy, center, and Natalia Boumatar sand furniture Wednesday morning at Thos. Moser, the handmade-furniture manufacturer in Auburn. The students from St. Timothy’s School, a girls day and boarding school in Stevenson, Maryland, are in Maine for an experiential learning trip. Jackie Geter-Hunter, the dean of students, said: “The students have been sitting on and using Moser furniture for years in the dining hall and academic buildings. We wanted to give them an appreciation for the quality and craftsmanship of it.” They are spending much of this week working with Moser artisans who are making a conference table and other pieces for the school’s new student center.
