TURNER — Outdoor recreation will be the focus of the Turner Comprehensive Planning Committee’s next public forum at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be held at The Great Outdoors, off North Parish Road, opposite Turner Highlands golf course.

The committee is encouraging residents interested in all forms of outdoor recreation to attend. Groups that are already organized, such as Turner Athletic Association, Turner Ridge Riders snowmobile club and Turner Timberlands ATV club, have been asked to participate. The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife and representatives from SAD 52 are also expected to contribute to the conversation.

Turner’s Comprehensive Plan is now updated. The plan lays out town goals and objectives for the next 10 years. Public forums are planned for a variety of subjects to give residents the opportunity to offer ideas and suggestions to enhance the quality of life in the community.
