AUBURN — The death of a New Gloucester woman whose body was found last month in The Basin of Lake Auburn remains under investigation, police said.
The unclothed body of Jessica Gallant, 34, was found floating about 20 feet offshore on the morning of July 29 by two fishermen who called 911.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is awaiting results of toxicology tests, which are needed to determine the cause of death, Acting Police Chief Jason Moen said Tuesday.
Local police continue to investigate with the assistance of the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit.
According to an undated post on her Facebook page, Gallant wrote that she grew up in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and moved to Portland in 1998. Her timeline notes she moved to Auburn in 2008 and to Sabattus in 2012.
