AUBURN — A Lewiston man charged with felony assault stemming from a June shooting was charged Wednesday with elevated aggravated assault and four other related crimes.
The assault charge is punishable by up to 30 years in prison.
An Androscoggin County grand jury handed up an indictment against Jordan Waterman, 27, of 206 Park St., who also was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and reckless conduct with a firearm, each a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Waterman is expected to appear in 8th District Court in Lewiston on Friday to enter pleas.
Police said in court papers that Waterman shot a man in the leg early on the morning of June 16 at Bartlett and Pine streets after a fight.
A .45-caliber casing was found about 10 feet from where Waterman is seen on a street surveillance camera firing the shot, according to police.
A prosecutor said the gun had not been recovered.
Waterman’s bail was set at $50,000 cash.
