CLEARWATER, Fla. — Muriel Lorraine (Cote) Martin, 92, of Clearwater, Fla., passed away peacefully July 9.. Her husband of 68 years, Ronaldo P. Martin, passed away in 2016. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Walsh and her husband, Jim, of Dedham, Mass., Sonia Russell and her husband, Tom, of Bangor; one son, Ronaldo (Roy) Patrick Martin Jr., OD, of Yorktown, Va.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Albertine (Bouchard) Cote, brother, Wilfred Cote, and sisters Isabel Scarito, Gladys LeMay and Yvonne Beaupre.

Muriel was born in Jay. She moved to Lewiston at the age of 14. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus women’s auxiliary for 10 years and served as president in 1967-68. She was a communicant of Holy Family parish in Lewiston. She and her husband, Ron, retired to Clearwater where they resided for 30 years. They lived at the Hamptons in Clearwater. They enjoyed traveling the country in their RV and square dancing. Muriel enjoyed playing bingo and had a love of music. She also participated in the local community theater. The last couple of years she resided at Brookdale Beckett Lake in Clearwater.

A memorial celebration took place at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater, Fla. A special thanks to Suncoast Hospice, Brookdale Beckett Lake and Senior Helpers for their support and especially to her caregiver, Cristina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, lower chapel, in Lewiston on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
