RUMFORD — Brian Scott “Chugga” McPherson, 60, died peacefully at his home Sunday, Sept. 9.

Born in Rumford on Nov. 10, 1957, he was the son of Robert and Dorothy (Abbott) McPherson. Chugga attended local schools and worked as a logger throughout his life. He was currently employed by David Dupuis Logging. He enjoyed the farm, his family and his friends. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and kind heart. He will forever leave a void in the hearts and lives of those who loved him.

Survivors include his companion, Karen Chaisson, of Rumford; stepsons Brian Pingree and wife, Jenn, and Robert Pingree and wife, Sarah, of Rumford; six grandchildren: Kayla, Tessa, Dalton, Mia, Jasmine and Jayden Pingree, all of Rumford; brothers: Robert McPherson and wife, Elaine, of Rumford; Richard McPherson and wife, Mary, of Florida; Daniel McPherson and companion, Donna Goddard, of Rumford; Edward McPherson and wife, Carri, of Newry; Larry McPherson and wife, Loretta, of South Carolina; John McPherson and companion, Wendy Hebert, of Rumford; and William McPherson and companion, Lisa London, of Rumford; sisters: Elaine Merrill of West Bethel; Patricia Bean and husband, David, of Rumford; and Tina Godbois and husband, Gearry, of Rumford; and his beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother-in-law, Dwight Merrill.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the New Rumford Point Cemetery, Whippoorwill Road, Rumford Point, with Pastor Linda Couture officiating. Friends and family are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Meeader & Son Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services, 3 Franklin St., P.O. Box 537, Rumford.
