MECHANIC FALLS — Miranda Hinkley of Otisfield was officially conferred the title of certified clerk of Maine at the annual conference of the Maine Town & City Clerks’ Association.

The conference was held at the Waterville Elks Lodge on Sept. 11. In addition to the annual business meeting, the association recognizes town and city clerks from across the state who complete more than 120 hours of training and testing and have at minimum two years’ experience.

Hinkley has worked for Mechanic Falls since July 2016. In addition to her role as town clerk she is also a deputy tax clerk and the registrar, overseeing local elections.
