Ned Claxton is exactly the type of legislator needed now. Many voters remember him as a gentle, primary-care doctor who always took the time to listen to his patients, engage them in conversation and treat them with kindness and respect. He will be the same as a state senator.

As he has traveled around Auburn, Poland, Mechanic Falls, Minot and New Gloucester the past several months, he spends more time listening than he does talking. He doesn’t claim to have all the answers, but he knows the quality of the government can be improved by listening to one another and working together to find workable solutions to improve health care, create good jobs and urge young people to stay and work in Maine.

Many have trusted Ned Claxton with their lives. I will give him a chance to make Maine’s government work again on Nov. 6.
