DEAR SUN SPOTS: We recently found a beautiful walking stick along Route 108 in Peru. It is 53 ½” tall with an ice pick at the bottom. Call 207-562-7141 to identify this stick.

ANSWER: ‘Tis the season for some good hiking! If you lose any of your accoutrements while you’re out of the trail, Sun Spots may be able to help you find them again. I hope the owner of this walking stick sees this.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In response to the request in Sun Spots on Sept. 13, Steve Corro of Corro’s Fiberglassing & Refinishing can remove shower doors and repair the holes left. He also repairs cracks on the bottom and walls of tubs and showers and does non-skid bottoms. He refinishes complete units if you want to change the color of your tub and shower or just brighten up the finish. His phone number is 207-783-5944 and e-mail address is corrosfiberglassing@hotmail.com.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In regard to the question about Marta’s Bakery in Waterford in Sun Spots on Sept. 12, Marta is moving away from the area. We enjoyed her bakery and will miss her.

—No name, no town

ANSWER: That’s sad. I hope a talented baker comes along and revives the business.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I need to have all the insulated glass units in the thirty vinyl windows of my home replaced as a result of bad seals. I am looking for someone to measure the glass, place the order, remove old units and replace them with new ones. I have the source for the glass I want and will share this with qualified individuals. I realize that there may be a mark-up, but take it easy on me.

I am seeking qualified people in the glass business ,or maybe someone who has been in the business, to do the work. If anybody has contact information, please call me at 207-966-1996.

ANSWER: I recommend that you go with a qualified window company such A-B.E.S.T Windows (207-799-6771 or abestwindow.com). They will come to your home and give you a free estimate. All their work is guaranteed. They replaced twelve windows in my home within six hours and completely cleaned up the mess. You never would have known they had been there working all day. When the seal on one of my windows failed after a few years, the window was completely replaced within a week at no charge.

You can also call Home Depot in Auburn at 207-777-0042 or Lowe’s in Auburn at 207-514-2300 for recommendations on contractors in your area.

Readers, now is your time to shine in Sun Spots if you have a good recommendation!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I want to buy a Phase 10 dice game. Does anyone know where I can find one? I am house-bound. Thank you for all you do. You’re wonderful; truly an angel.

—No name, no town

ANSWER: Aww, you’re very sweet … Phase 10, a fun game that costs about $20, is at Walmart.com and Amazon. Do you have a friend or neighbor who can get on the internet and order it for you?
