As part of Great Maine Outdoor Weekend, Mahoosuc Land Trust (MLT) is offering a variety of fun things to do and see on Sept. 22-23 at Valentine Farm, 162 North Road, Bethel.

The festivities start on Saturday with a preview of the 5th annual Celebration of Nature art show.  Come meet the artists and enjoy light refreshments from 7 p.m. -8:30 p.m.  Artwork will be available for sale.

On Sunday, enjoy a full day (8 a.m. -2 p.m.) of fun at Valentine Farm.  Like art? The art show will be available to view, and artists will be painting plein air for you to watch.  What about a hike? Join Gabe Perkins from Mahoosuc Pathways and MLT hosts on a walk through the Bethel Community Forest.  Want to learn a skill? Norm Greenberg will teach you how to use a map and compass to find your way home when your phone doesn’t work.  Paul Motts will help you identify birds. We will also need help building a giant nest. We will provide the sticks, you bring your imagination and building skills. What about food?  There is a potluck cookout at noon. MLT will provide drinks and burgers (local beef and veggie), please bring a salad or dessert to share.
