I don’t usually write letters to a newspaper, but I think it is important to share why I am supporting Doretta Colburn to represent my district (Norway, Waterford, Sweden and West Paris) in the State House on Nov. 6.
I have gotten to know Colburn quite well through community events. Her support of great health care for all Maine citizens makes sense. I like the way she always approaches other’s thoughts and concerns with genuine interest and a positive response. There is no room for criticism or negative comparisons in her campaign. It is obvious she was an effective and beloved teacher and pastor.
The district needs Doretta Colburn, and more women like her are needed in state government.
Time for a change.
